Recently, Foshan held a meeting to promote the improvement of consumer satisfaction. The meeting pointed out that by creating the golden signboard of “Safe Consumption in Foshan”, Foshan’s overall consumer satisfaction performance continued to improve. Last year, it scored 91.70 points, ranking third in the country, and remained first in the province for four consecutive years.
This year, Foshan has fully launched the “old for new” work for consumer goods, optimized the enterprise review process, promoted the allocation of funds, and introduced the “old for new” subsidy policy in a timely manner, constantly innovating and enriching consumer supply, and enhancing consumer vitality and competitiveness.
As of 0:00 on October 24, the amount of Foshan’s consumer goods “old for new” qualification coupons written off was 850 million yuan, driving consumption of 5.7 billion yuan, and the cumulative write-off rate was 74.5%. Foshan has deepened the construction of “double commitment” for safe consumption, extending the commitment subjects to all types of awarded units such as quality award-winning enterprises and supermarkets at all levels of government in the city, taking the opportunity of upgrading and renovating farmers’ markets to create a typical model of demonstration business districts, combining the implementation of the “Hundreds of Millions of Projects” to create a number of urban and rural safe consumption food gathering areas, taking multiple measures to amplify the demonstration effect, and escorting the optimization of the consumption environment and boosting consumer confidence. On this basis, Foshan pioneered the “safe consumption commitment” in the online registration and licensing of market entities in the country, providing a new path for the creation of safe consumption.
The so-called “double commitment”, including “safe consumption commitment” and “offline no-reason return commitment”, means that merchants make guarantees in terms of product quality, honest operation, rights protection and after-sales, and use this to regulate behavior and improve services. As of October, Foshan has added more than 25,000 “double commitment” units and created more than 40,000 units in total, ranking first in the province in both the number of new units and the cumulative number.
To protect the rights and interests of consumers, Foshan has opened up complaint and reporting channels, paid attention to responding to consumers’ demands and opinions, strengthened problem orientation, and improved the ability to solve problems. As of mid-October, 241,000 of the 246,000 consumer rights protection demands from various channels of the 12345 hotline had been handled, with a completion rate of about 98%.
