On October 25, the award ceremony for the 2024 “Data Elements ×” National Finals Competition, held by 15 departments including the National Data Bureau, was held in Beijing. It is reported that this is the first national competition in China focusing on the development and application of data elements. The competition lasted for 5 months, with “Data Empowerment Multiplier” as the core theme. The Shenzhen teams performed well, and all six teams shortlisted for the national finals won awards, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 3 third prizes.
Shenzhen Smart City Technology Development Group Co., Ltd.’s project “Digital Twins Promote Intelligent Social Governance in Super Cities” is the only first prize winner in the urban governance track; China Insurance Auto Service Technology Service Co., Ltd.’s “Using the “Government + Industry + Enterprise” Data Vault and Data Space New Infrastructure to Improve Insurance Risk Reduction Capabilities and Reduce Costs and Increase Efficiency” won the second prize in the financial services track, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School’s “Improving the Efficiency and Controllability of Protein De Novo Design” won the second prize in the science and technology innovation track; Shenzhen Tencent Computer Systems Co., Ltd.’s “Grassroots Screening System Based on Image Cloud and Glaucoma AI-Assisted Diagnosis” won the third prize in the science and technology track, Huawei Cloud Computing Technology Co., Ltd.’s “Meteorological Data Products Based on AI Large Models to Promote the Development and Innovation of Meteorological Science and Technology Industry” won the third prize in the meteorological service track, and Shenzhen Water (Group) Co., Ltd.’s “Data Elements Drive Collaborative Governance and Intelligent Control of Urban Pollution and Waterlogging” won the third prize in the green and low-carbon track.
Shenzhen actively promotes the “Data Elements ×” action, fully implements the national action requirements, covers 12 key areas including industrial manufacturing, modern agriculture, trade and circulation, transportation, financial services, scientific and technological innovation, cultural tourism, medical health, emergency management, meteorological services, urban governance, green and low-carbon, etc. At the same time, combined with Shenzhen’s advantages and data application needs, it has added “Data Elements × Water Services”, “Data Elements × Rule of Law Construction”, and “Data Elements × Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation” 3 key actions, a total of 15 key actions have been deployed to build a digital vitality city.
The “Data Elements ×” competition was launched in May this year. The Shenzhen Municipal Government Services and Data Management Bureau carefully organized various districts and departments, focused on local industrial characteristics, and widely mobilized various participating entities such as Shenzhen enterprises, institutions, scientific research institutes, and universities to participate. In this competition, the total number of cases submitted by Shenzhen reached 329. After layers of competition selection, 6 companies in Shenzhen were shortlisted for the national finals and won excellent results.
